Tickets in hand

The team has finally received their ticket for India. We leave Roanoke on 27 January and arrive in India late on the evening of 28 January after a 26+ hour trip. Our first stop will be a visit to the Taj Mahal as guests of the Taj Foundation. The stop will be an R&R before we start our tour of Rotary District 3090 in the State of Punjab.

First Slideshow

November Meeting

The team met in Harrisonburg on November 22. We had a good discussion about the history, economics and culture of India. We put together the first draft of our presentation. The District 3090 conference will be less than a week after we arrive. The team is excited and ready to go! We are completely outfitted with our uniforms, badges and name tags. Drew Miller from the South Africa GSE Team met us for lunch and shared his experiences with us. He provided a number of great tips which will make our trip easier and more enjoyable.

The team is discussing a stop in Europe to break up the long plane ride. The city will depend on how we are routed. We are still waiting for our itinerary in India before final plans are made.

About this blog...

This blog will be the way that we will share our experiences in India with our family, friends, and sponsoring Rotary clubs. Based on the experiences of the previous GSE members that we've talked to, there will be a lot of posts up until the time we arrive in India. After that, we'll post as we're able, which may not be much, depending on what's going on.

Either way, we will try to share as much as we can about our experiences in India.
